Engineering
Planned research for developing new products
Elfor Controls is able to provide a complete design activity following customers’ requests. Thanks to our know how, experience and advanced software as : Autodesk Inventor®, Autodesk AutoCAD®, PV Elite® we can build a “Taylor made” solution.
Our engineering activity is made according to the most known design codes.
3D cad
The ELFOR CONTROLS CAD environment provides an electronic means to create engineering drawings in 2 and 3 dimensions, (3D solid modelling), motion analysis to optimize component design and strength and to promote standardization.
It also delivers a full product data management system for our products for their complete lifecycle so delivering more effective designs, compact and lighter in weight without compromise to structural integrity or reliability.
Our design engineers are experienced in computer aided design and utilise the system to;
- Edit and view part or full product structures
- Update product structures with new and existing parts.
- Edit part usage attributes
- View and update related information such as documentation
- Quickly find parts in the structure tree to highlight similarities
- Create configuration specification filters with multiple levels to create real world configuration needs
- Filter product structures based upon spatial location or proximity to a component.
- Create filters based upon part and usage attributes.
- Timeline the history of a component capturing maturity, revision, moves and renames
FEA – Finite Element Analysis
Maximizing the durability within the design of the valve is critical to its in service life and reliability. To aid in the prediction of the valve to withstand the mechanical stresses created during operating conditions we use Finite Element Analysis as one of our tools.
FEA most often involves the determination of stress intensity factors.
These types of fracture mechanics more accurately predict the stress state within the design material, a critical factor in the design of high pressure valves.
We have integrated FEA into our design cycle as part of our continued improvements to reliability, safety, quality and cost effectiveness.
Such models accurately determine deformation and stresses created in the ‘real world’.
In addition to considering a part’s ability to withstand the mechanical stresses created during use the FEA software enables our engineers to predict the effects of extreme temperatures or temperature changes (heat transfer analysis) and the flow of fluids through and around objects (fluid flow analysis).
